With polar bears facing an uncertain future as climate change alters their winter sea ice hunting grounds, a Polar Bear Provincial Park in the Hudson Bay region of Manitoba would ensure protection of land based habitat including important denning sites. Incredible diversity including caribou, wolverine, moose, wolf, arctic fox and astounding flocks of migratory birds also depend on this peat rich region for which collaborative planning with local Indigenous communities is the first step toward realizing a unique conservation opportunity.
