How it all started

Matthew Wasserman

Pharmacist, Nutrition specialist.

Our body constantly requires an energy supply, and foods we eat are not always foods for energy. I observed that people start caring about their health when they become ill. Therefore, I decided to create a line of healthy snacks that would be “snack on snack”, the best health food available on the market of whole foods. I had to decide what it had to be. I must be natural, gluten free, sugar free, a food for energy, a snack for children and adults. I read and re-read mounds of literature, many health food stories from the time of ancient Egypt to our time. And I found that nothing can be better than natural healthy recipes that have been used thousands of years ago. These recipes included berries, fruit, nuts, seeds and honey. As we try to give the best to our children, in nature – fruit, nuts, seeds and berries are the children of plants. All the best they have, their strength and survivability they give to their children. Honey is a natural preservative and it keeps the snacks fresh for a long time. The bees produce honey to feed themselves and their offspring during the long months of winter. They receive from it enough energy to survive and retain their ability to return to work in the spring. The sugar that honey contains is fructose that is slowly converted to glucose in our gastro-intestinal tract, thereby not creating a “glucose spike”. Honey, therefore, has a lower glycemic index compared with sugar and many other sweeteners. I, as a pharmacist and specialist in nutrition, know what is nutrient balancing from learning and experience. One of my relatives has been working in food industry since 1984, so I turned to him with this idea. Interestingly, he considered this direction about 10 years ago and developed many healthy recipes. However, he could not balance the nutrients properly. After a few months of cooperation we created a snack on snack – a tasty product that is also full of energy. It contains whole berries, fruit, nuts, seeds and honey without any other additives. It is truly the best snack that has ever been on the shelves of health food stores. Special processing imparts delicious taste, freshness and easiness on nutrient absorption. So, what is a healthy food and energy snack? It is a product that gives us energy for the whole day, keeps us from tiredness when we play golf, hike, bike, jog or work out. It keeps up our energy and great mood. Health food is what gives us energy to live. I asked myself, are my snacks healthy? And the answer is “YES!”. Are my snacks gluten free? YES! Are my snacks – energy food? YES! They are some of the best energy foods on the market today. What do I wish for you, then? The Drink lots to stay hydrated, exercise, eat my snacks and be healthy. I wish to express my gratitude to me wife, Dr. Veronica Wasserman, specialist in nutrition, for ongoing feedback and support in recipe creation and adjustment.

Historical Facts

The historical tradition of graves of ancient Egypt is to place in the tomb along with the mummified bodies, the attributes of everyday life, including food, the most common of which were dried figs and nuts. It was thought that in the afterlife, they support the energy of the soul. The first pharaoh of the First Dynasty, Narmer (Menes) exhibited tremendous energy and masculine strength. His daily diet consisted of dried crushed mass of dates, figs, raisins, sesame seeds, nuts and honey. Pharaoh was able to unite in one state all the disparate parts of ancient Egypt. During the construction of its capital, Memphis (egypt. "hat-Ku Pata", translates as "Fortress of the Soul"), he ordered the same energy mix to be given every morning for breakfast to the worker. The same tradition was used in the construction of Egyptian pyramids.
